Chungnam Institute was established in June 1995 as a policy research institute funded by Chungcheongnam-do Province and its cities and counties. The institute is dedicated to research with the ultimate goal of contributing to the happiness of local residents by promoting balanced development and enhancing the competitiveness of Chungcheongnam-do.

This statement reflects our determination and belief in creating a reality beyond imagination for the two million residents of Chungcheongnam-do — a better life that will continue for future generations.

Accordingly, Chungnam Institute presents leading policy alternatives to address the long-standing challenges faced by Chungcheongnam-do, ranging from the regional economy, agriculture and rural areas, and culture and tourism to climate and environment, science and industry, and regional innovation projects.
