Chungnam Research Institute was established in June 1995 through contributions from Chungcheongnam-do Province and its cities and counties. As a policy research institute, it is dedicated to research with the ultimate goal of contributing to the happiness of residents by promoting balanced development and enhancing the competitiveness of Chungcheongnam-do.

We embody the will and belief to create a better life for the two million residents of Chungnam and to realize a reality beyond imagination that will continue for future generations.Accordingly, Chungnam Research Institute presents leading policy alternatives to address the long-standing challenges facing Chungcheongnam-do, ranging from the regional economy, agriculture and rural development, and culture and tourism to climate and the environment, science and industry, and regional innovation projects. In this rapidly changing and increasingly uncertain era, the power of the Institute alone is not enough.

We will be reborn as a “network platform” that communicates and cooperates closely with Chungcheongnam-do, its 15 cities and counties, the Chungnam Provincial Council, national research institutions, academic experts, and civil society organizations.
